Personalised approach : Before someone comes to live with us, we develop a detailed personalised care plan in partnership with the individual and those closest to them. This plan documents a resident’s personalised care needs, life history, likes and dislikes and future goals. These care plans are reviewed once a month or whenever there is a change in the needs.

Families & friends support : We believe families and friends are an integral part of our home. They are welcome to visit at any time and to play an active part in their loved ones’ lives. We support family members by running regular carer events and offer advice whenever needed.

Rated 'GOOD' by CQC : Chestnuts is inspected and rated as ‘GOOD’ in all the 5 areas measured by the industry regulator, the Care Quality Commission.

Why are we different?

We are responsive – Clients and their families can contact us at any time. Care managers are available 24 hours a day, seven days a week, and 365 days a year. Our Clients’ wellbeing is always our top priority. We want the best for them at all times.

We are selective – We employ only the best CareGivers and give them thorough training before we carefully match the right CareGiver with the right Client.

We are flexible – If a Client or family member is unsatisfied with a particular CareGiver, all it takes is a phone call and we can match our Client with another suitable CareGiver.

We are protected – We carry all of the necessary liability insurance coverage so that all of our Clients and their families are fully protected. In order to ensure only the highest quality staff support our Clients, all our CareGivers are employed directly by their local office. All staff undergo rigorous Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) and reference checks, together with ongoing training. For this reason we will not use agency staff.

Ken has a wealth of experience in franchising, the care sector and business, and has received a number of prestigious awards throughout his career.

An Economics graduate from the University of Leeds, he is a qualified Chartered Accountant who enjoyed a highly successful career within a FTSE Top 30 multi-national. Ken also holds an NVQ Level 4 in Social Care.

Having run a successful care home since 2006, Ken then sought the opportunity to link his unique care, franchising and business experience together and became UK Master Licence Holder for Right at Home International in 2009. Ken is an advocate of ethical Franchising. He sits on the board of the British Franchise Association and their Compliance and Standards Committee.
